Creating an environment of entrepreneurship, the St. Lucia Social Development Fund (SSDF) and BELfund officially rolled out their upgraded Micro Enterprise Assistance Programme (targeting vulnerable single mothers) in August 2022 and further expanding the program to the wider populus
Sign up to become a participant in the Micro Enterprise Program. During registration, you’ll provide details about your business idea, background, and what you hope to achieve. Classes will be provided to further enhance your existing knowledge or help you learn. This step confirms your eligibility and connects you to the resources you’ll need to start.
As part of your coursework, you’ll draft your business plan with guidance and feedback. This includes sections on your business model, market analysis, financial projections, cost structure, and growth strategy. These draft plans are refined by our expert, before final submission to ensure clarity and viability.
Once registered, you will go through structured training modules covering essential business topics such as financial management, marketing, operations, and planning. These classes give you the core knowledge and tools to build a sustainable business foundation.
In the final step, you submit your completed business plan to BELfund (the James Belgrave Micro Enterprise Development Fund) for review. BELfund, a government-backed initiative in Saint Lucia, provides low‑cost loans, training, technical support, and resources for micro‑entrepreneurs.
If your plan is accepted, BELfund may offer you financial support (loan), mentoring, and other services to help launch or expand your business sustainably.
